Is the liveShow software intuitive to use?

Mostly is meant with intuitive: Will I use the software immediately?

The liveShow software goes a new way compared to hardware mixers or other DMX software. If the basic idea (content -> Timeline object) is understood, working with the basics of the liveShow software is very logical and easy. Above all, there is a very similar approach in all areas (sound, light and media).

Due to security considerations and faster usability, liveSHOW software has a few peculiarities:

  1. There are no keyboard commands
  2. There are no context menus
  3. All functions can be selected directly by button

All functions can be selected directly by button

For the beginner, the software seems less intuitive at first glance. After a short period of work-in, these very peculiarities make fast editing possible even for complex shows.

There is no file drag and drop - no files can be dragged directly to the timeline (for example, sound files). As a rule, video and sound files have a small lead, because the liveSHOW software can be used frame-accurate, it makes more sense to go through an extra window in which areas can be set and drawn into the timeline.

Because of the many different DMX devices, which unfortunately are not standardized, it was necessary to integrate most eventualities into the software. This makes the operation of the DMX Device Editor more complex.

The 80/20 rule also applies to the liveShow software, 80% of the users use 20% of the software. For 80% of the users, the liveShow software will become quite intuitive, the remaining 20% simply have to deal with the fundamental complexity of the matter.
